We have always recognised in PresTech that digital technology can improve the quality of film restoration, allowing problems like colour fading, image unsteadiness and printed dirt to be addressed. Problems that cannot be tackled efficiently by other methods. 

Our digital department is equipped with a Cineon Genesis Plus Digital Film Scanner renowned for its image quality, steadiness and consistency of output.  We can scan up to 6.5K resolution, all formats including Vistavision, using specially modified film transport that can handle shrunken film safely.  We also have liquid gates to eliminate scratches during scanning; the link to our film lab ensures your film is prepared, cleaned, rewashed or polished as necessary before scanning thus reducing the time spent on restoration after scanning.

We have two workstations equipped with Cineon Storm and also other workstations equipped with Diamant and Combustion available for digital repair and restoration.   Film output comes from a modified Solitaire Cine 5 recorder and again, the in-house lab enables us to control the quality of our film output both colour and black and white.
